EJC Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar – San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija

Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar in Nueva EcijaTaking a quick break from Bohol posts again to make way for this EJC Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar post. I still have so much Bohol posts in line and I feel like I won’t finish it ’till next year. lol. Let’s hope not!

japanese side dishI wanted to eat at EJC Japanese Restaurant and sushi bar for months but we were always too busy. Finally, after running some errands in Cabanatuan City, we made a quick stop at EJC Japanese Restaurant. It was situated beside a gasoline station in a highway and it was along the way home so we decided to make a quick stop. Besides, I’ve been craving for salmon sashimi for months now!

Upon placing your orders, they would serve these free appetizers and green tea. And also, they serve lemon water to their guests.

EJC Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar Ambiance:

Affordable Japanese Restaurant in Nueva EcijaIt’s a nice little restaurant situated beside a gasoline station. There’s not much customers when we dined in so it’s pretty quiet and chill.

EJC Sushi BarThe sushi bar is located at the corner of the restaurant. I would love to sit there but Earvin doesn’t eat sahimi and he’s not really a fan of any kind of sushi. Haha! I forced him to have dinner at the EJC Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar. I am still recovering from dengue, so he obliged. Haha! 😉

EJC Japanese Restaurant and Sushi BarThere’s also a TV but if you were to sit in the sushi bar, you can’t watch it.

The Food:

Shoyu RamenImagine Earvin’s delight when he saw in their menu that they serve ramen! Much to his dismay, they don’t serve tonkotsu ramen. They only have Shoyu Ramen, Tempura Ramen, and Beef Stir Fry Ramen on their menu.

Earvin ordered the Shoyu Ramen which costs around 179php, and he said he’d rate it 4/10. But knowing Earvin, he only likes Ramen Nagi’s Red King for his ramen. I decided to try the soup and it does taste pretty bland. According to him, the pork is chewy too and that if it were tender, he would give the Shoyu Ramen a higher rating.

affordable salmon sashimiSalmon SashimiNow let’s talk about salmon sashimi, this is what we came in for after all! I was surprised when I read their menu and saw that 7pcs of salmon sashimi is only 220php! Pretty affordable, huh? If we haven’t eaten dinner before heading home, I’d order two plates in a heartbeat! But I was pretty full and mom cooked dinner at home which means we have to eat again when we get home so I settled for a plate.

SashimiThe salmon is fresh and so so buttery! And it has amazing texture too. I also appreciate the pickled ginger on a plate, can’t have sashimi without it! Ugh, just looking at these pictures while I’m writing this post makes me want to dine in at EJC Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar again.

Thoughts:

If you ever find yourself in Nueva Ecija or if you’re from Nueva Ecija who fancies japanese food, EJC Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar is worth visiting. I forgot to take a photo of their menu but the food they serve are pretty affordable. Their staff is so friendly and accommodating too.

I am pretty sure we’ll be back at this restaurant so I can have their salmon sashimi again and to try something new from their menu. 🙂

There is such as thing as quality control. I am almost sure the owner would not have allowed the ramen to be served as was served to you, considering the premium they placed on salmon sashimi. Those are fresh and color is beautiful. Hindi naman pwedeng sabihing nagkataon pero I suspect the cook was sort of … “relaxed”.

I’m a huge fan of Japanese food! Those sashimis look really fresh… and the fact that it’s buttery makes my mouth water. Really loving the lightness of Japanese food. But I’m yet to find my favorite ramen!

Mmmm this looks delicious! I’m in love with sushi – especially maki rolls. I do like sashimi but don’t like eating too much of it. Great post thanks for sharing your foodie experience!

The place doesn’t look very Japanese. Their name doesn’t sound too catchy too so I’m not really keen on trying out the place for first impressions. I haven’t really tried ramen ever since and I don’t know why. I just like their sushis and salmons. Good thing , as you mentioned, this restaurant provides good salmon sushi.

Japanese food will always be the best for me. When me and my family visited japan, every other food and delicacies that aren’t japanese suddenly became bland for me. Even the japanese themed ones here in the Philippines weren’t as good. But hey, maybe this place would change my mind. Keeping track of this place and maybe i’ll get to blog about it too. 🙂
