Colourpop Ultra Matte in Beeper Review

colourpop ultra matte in beeper

If there’s one thing that I’m quite disappointed with Colourpop Ultra Matte Lips, it’s the fact that their formula oxidizes like crazy. You might think that it’s a great thing that you can see the actual color of the shade you have on the tube but that is definitely not the case. Most often than not, it’s nowhere near the actual colour when you apply it on your lips. I’ve talked about Lax before, let me share my thought in Colourpop Ultra Matte in Beeper this time. 🙂

Sometimes it will look darker, sometimes lighter, and even greyish at times. This is such a bummer since Colourpop is an online company and they don’t have any kiosks yet where you can try out their products before purchasing. So yes, that’s something you have to keep in mind if you want to buy some of their Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip.

beeper review

As for the shade Beeper, it is a warm mid-tone taupe and it gives out a hint of coral tones in my lips. It’s one of my favorite everyday lip colors too, next to Sleek Matte Me in Birthday Suit.

colourpop ultra matte applicator

Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip has a doe-foot applicator, the most common applicator when it comes to liquid lipsticks. Same as with Lax, it has an amazing pigmentation and layering is not an option. You have to work really fast with this one ’cause it sets pretty fast too.

If you’re looking for an everyday lip that can last you a day, Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Beeper is the way to go. That’s the case for me, please not the I am a medium skintone. Staying power is not an issue especially if you’re not going to eat oily food throughout the day. If you’ll eat oily food like ramen, it’s gonna move and you’ll just have to wipe it off and re-apply after eating. 🙂

Agree with you, shades are darker on the lips and they look so different on different skintones -_- . Loved the shade. On my skintone Tulle is coming across like a daily shade.

Are you serious? I've thought Tulle was more of a "party shade" than a daily shade. Colourpop formula is crazy!

Do they have more colors? I don't know this brand yet. This color doesn't look very well on me usually. I don't use a lot of brown shaed. I tend to go for more red tones.

Yes Carola, they actually have a wide array of shades. It can get overwhelming sometimes. If you're more of a red lipstick girl, I'm pretty sure you will love the Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Avenue and in Creeper. 🙂

Ommyyy. Great review! Been wanting to buy one for a long time now, esp since I found out it's the same company doing Kylie's LipKit 😀 Love the color too, definitely gotta try this for myself.

I haven't tried lippies from ColourPop but I heard they're really good. Most lipsticks do come out differently compared to the color on the packaging… Skintone and lip color might be a factor too. So it's really advisable to swatch them out before buying… Btw, I personally think the shade you got is lovely.

I actually want to purchase something from Kylie Cosmetics but if it's true that Colourpop makes her lip kits, I'll just stick with Colourpop considering how affordable it is compare to Kylie Cosmetics.

  8. July 16, 2016 / 11:00 pm

That's what I'm saying. The sad thing is Colourpop Cosmetics is only available online so you can't really swatch them first before buying.

I have heard about this and that's the only convenient (they don't have any kiosk available where we can give a try first of their items before purchasing it). Well, so far I have read good reviews about the products they sell. And if in case you find the item not suitable on your end, that isn't a problem at all since the cost of each lipstick isn't that high.

I love this kind of shade and even the type of lipstick. But if gets darker, it might not fit with my skintone. I need to check the other items. They offer quite affordable products.

I cant rven imagine eating ramen with lipstick on. Well thats probably because I dont wear lipstick. When I was a makeup artist my fave lip olor was taupe!

  12. July 17, 2016 / 7:37 pm

I haven't tried this yet. It's a bit hard though that there's no way to swatch it. We'd have to rely on the photos, which all depends on the skin tone and the lighting too. Despite that, the color looks nice.

Just judging by the color of the lipstick, I'd say I love it and it would look good on anyone. (I guess). As a photographer, I love how natural the color is of the shade of the lipstick. I hate the loud , radiant red that some ladies wear. The beeper (when dried) made the lipstick more natural too.

Have heard of Colourpop before and it really made me curious about it. I haven't bought any because the online shops here would have an added amount to the supposed price. Oh well. It's sad to hear about those. But thanks for the heads up 😀

  15. July 19, 2016 / 5:06 am

Colourpop has a wide variety of shades. I'm pretty sure you can find something in their collection that will suit your skin tone. 🙂

  16. July 19, 2016 / 5:08 am

If you're planning to buy multiple items from Colourpop, i'd suggest that you just buy directly from their website. It'll be much cheaper but you'll have to wait a few weeks for them to arrive.

  17. July 19, 2016 / 5:11 am

Yes, I'd have to agree that Beeper looks more natural when it's completely set. However, if you have light skintone, this may not turn out as a natural shade for you.

  18. July 19, 2016 / 10:03 pm

Great to see the swatch of the color. It looks great! Too bad you don't like the formula that much. Oxidation is really too bad. Overal a nice product I guess… 🙂 I can try it!

  19. July 19, 2016 / 10:03 pm

Colour pop is taking the world ahah I see their products everywhere! Love this lipstick colour it's super nice.
    Great review dear.

That' why I'm thinking of getting the Colourpop Lippie Stix first before going to the Ultra Matte. I actually Ultra Matte first but now that I read your review, I think I'll fix my mind in getting the Lippie Stix. Where did you purchase yours?

  21. July 20, 2016 / 7:52 pm

I have a lippie stix too and it's not as opaque as the Ultra Matte Lips. Will publish my review on the Colourpop Lippie Stix soon. I hope you can check it out once it's published. 🙂

  22. July 22, 2016 / 8:14 am

That looks like a great lipstick. I do love liquid lipsticks because they last so long. But I agree that it's annoying if you can't try them on first. I'm not sure I would wear that shade because it's too brown for my pale pink skin. But I'm glad it's perfect for you!

  23. July 27, 2016 / 10:42 pm

I love nude and matte lipsticks! Those may be my favorite. Only the facts that the color on the packaging and on your lips when it dries is not the same kida sucks. Still, you can't go wrong with shades like this 🙂

  24. July 27, 2016 / 10:42 pm

I have other matte brands of lipsticks that I do really love. Never tried colourpop yet. And just recently there are also fake ones for this brand.

  25. July 29, 2016 / 11:51 pm

I heard somewhere that the Kylie dupes are actually Colourpop! Prior to that I haven't heard of the brand. Now, I saw it on your blog and I'm even more curious! Hope to try it soon.

I bought Bumble and it's so dark on my lips! I'm looking at Beeper and parang I like it more x.x Hay. Oh well, the good thing about it is that they're affordable and the staying power is amazing

  27. August 10, 2016 / 6:13 pm

I’m really eyeing this Colourpop shade! Actually, I am loving the shades of this brand because I think it will match my skin tone. By the way sis, it would be great also if you could include the price. 🙂 Anyways, as you mentioned, they’re an online company so I’ll just check it myself. Thanks for a great review! 🙂

  28. August 27, 2016 / 3:23 pm

Colourpop has been the choice cheaper alternative over the Kylie lippies. The colors look very interesting and subdued too. It would be great if we could see how the Colourpop Matte looked on your lips too though 🙂
