I have been looking for the perfect nude shade that will suit me ever since I started blogging but it’s been years of looking with no luck up until a few weeks ago. The nude shades that I got before were always too pale for my morena skintone and they always just washes out the life on my face and make me look sick. Sometimes, it will look like I have applied concealer on my lips! And finally, I found the perfect nude kipstick for me so I’m sharing it with you guys! Here’s Sleek Matte Me in Birthday Suit Review + Swatch!
I am supposed to get Colourpop’s Echo Park to be honest but the seller sent the wrong shade. Yes, I kinda felt sad ’cause I really want a nude lipstick for summer. As i’ve said, colourpop ultra mattes can be drying so instead of ordering Echo Park again, I just ordered the Sleek Matte Me in Birthday Suit at Zalora since I’ve read from my friend’s blog, Maria Hazel, that Sleek Matte Me in Birthday Suit looks good on any skin tone.
And I am SO glad I ordered the Sleek Matte Me in Birthday suit. Upon application it looks too pale for me but when it dries out, it kinda blends out with my skintone. I love it! The consistency is quite runny and you need to layer it up to achieve an opaque finish.
The Sleek Matte Me in Birthday suit isn’t as drying as the colourpop ultra mattes. However, isn’t as long lasting and as pigmented either. Well, I am not sure if it’s just because I got a nude shade but we’ll see once I get my hands on other shades if the reds are pigmented. To be honest, I don’t mind that it wears off after eating an oily meal ’cause it doesn’t stain my lips. It only makes re-applying is such a breeze.
Sleek Matte Me in Birthday Suit Swatches:
As you can see, the Sleek Matte Me in Birthday suit dries completely matte. However, it does not dry out nor crack my lips. It is not patchy or streaky either. It doesn’t yield a tacky feeling on the lips, it actually feels like almost velvety when completely dried out. 🙂
