Yup, I’m really back on the blogging scene and here’s a review of the Loreal La Poudre True Match Foundation. If you could still remember, I got it from Luxola.sg which is now Sephora.ph during their last Boxing Day sale. You can read my Luxola Boxing Day Sale haul if you would like to. ๐
I got the shade N4 Nude Beige is way too light for me considering that I got a few shades darker because it’s summer so I just set it with a darker powder. It’s a two-way foundation so I decided to apply it with a wet sponge hoping for a better coverage because I’ve got some pimple marks currently. Sadly, it’s coverage is only light to medium even when you layer it up. You have to be careful in layering because it has a tendency to be cakey. So I guess it’s just formulated to be a light coverage foundation especially made for someone with oily skin but doesn’t have blemishes.
Having said that it’s too light for me and it doesn’t cover much of my imperfections, I just make sure to apply a layer on my face then set it with a darker powder that still offers a bit of coverage for a more natural-looking skin. You can also use cream concealers underneath too but since it’s summer and it’s usually too hot for me to be bothered with a concealer, I just rely on a darker powder instead. And also, isn’t summer all about natural-looking skin? ๐
The L’oreal La Poudre True Match Foundation may not be the best one, coverage wise but boy can it withstand the crazy hot and humid weather in the Philippines! It does mattify the face and it keeps my oils at bay for hours! Note that I have a really really oily skin right now.
I’d say that theย L’oreal La Poudre True Match Foundation is the perfect summer foundation because it offers light coverage while keeping oils at bay and managing to stay and not melt away even if it’s crazy hot and humid. I would recommend this to everyone with oily skin, believe me, you must get it this summer.
Since it doesn’t offer much coverage, this will still come in handy as a setting powder during colder months if you have oily skin. I don’t recommend this to those with dry skin though as this could dry your skin out even more.
Looks like a true match to me!

It looks like it because I've applied a darker shade of setting powder over it ๐
I tend to be on the dry side and usually stay away from drug store foundations and powders. I don't think I've ever found one that hasn't irritated me. :o(

It works for me right now since it's summer and i've got really oily skin because of the weather.
I have tried a couple of BB creams that I know will work well on someone with dry skin. I have written a review about them if you want to give them a read! ๐
