L’oreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation Review

L'oreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation reviewA lot of makeup lovers has raved about the L’oreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation since its release. Some said it’s their holy grail foundation and that it works wonders on oily skin! You all know I have really oily skin so I knew I have to get my hands on this foundation.

foundation for oily skin

It retails locally for 700php with 30ml worth of product. I got the shade 106 Sun Beige, by the way!foundation for oily skinloreal infallible pro matte reviewIt comes in a tube packaging which I like. I know, it’s not the prettiest foundation packaging out there but I like the fact that it minimizes product waste because it lets me squeeze out the right amount of product.

loreal infallible pro matte reviewIt has a creamy consistency that dries to a demi-matte finish. It’s pretty easy to blend but it sets really fast too so you must work fast with this foundation. Better yet, apply the foundation on your face part by part so that you’ll have enough time to blend. One it’s set, there’s no going back and it will only turn blotchy it you still try to blend it out.

best foundation for oily skin

L’oreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation Pros:

  • It has medium coverage. It is buildable to full coverage.
  • Controls oil really well. When it’s not too humid, I can get away without blotting for close to six hours.
  • Powder Finish. It doesn’t make your skin feel tacky so setting it with a powder is optional. 🙂
  • It lasts all day without the need for touch ups.
  • Minimal transfers. It doesn’t transfer at all when set with a powder.
  • Water Resistant.
  • It can withstand the hot and humid weather of the Philippines.
  • I like the packaging. It keeps the product from being contaminated and it lets me get the most out of this foundation.
  • It is very easy to blend and it sets really fast too.
  • Feels light on the skin.

L'oreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation review

L’oreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation C0ns:

  • It has a tendency to get cakey.
  • Will not work for you if you have dry skin.
  • It has a tendency to settle on pores and fine lines too.
  • It can get blotchy if not blended properly.
  • Accentuates dry patches.
  • Doesn’t layer well with cream products. If you’re using this foundation, forget your cream blush and contouring creams. You’re better off with powder products. 🙂

loreal infallible pro matte claimsloreal infallible pro matte 24hr foundation ingredients

Claims:

  • It claims to have a demi matte finish.
  • Medium coverage.
  • Lasts up to 24 hours
  • Lightweight texture.

The L’oreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation lives up to its claims and I can attest to that except for one thing. I am not sure if it can actually last for 24 hours. However, it can last the whole day for sure.

tips on using loreal infallible pro matte foundation

L’oreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation Quick Tips:

  • Make sure to moisturize beforehand. Even if you have oily skin, don’t skip this step!
  • Use a silicone based primer like the Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser. Since the L’oreal Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation has a tendency to settle into our pores, using a silicone based primers helps a lot in getting rid of this problem.
  • You can definitely get away with this foundation without setting it with a powder but if you prefer to set it with a powder, make sure to spritz some setting spray afterwards.

Overall, I like this product because I feel like it works well on my oily skin. It doesn’t cause any breakouts too so I’ll continue using it. I will recommend this to women with normal to oily skin. If you have dry skin, this will not work for you.

I’ve got a lot of Infallible makeup but not foundation yet. I need to look at their shades and see if it suits me

I have found L’Oreal products to be some of my favorite cosmetics to use. Always so gentle on my sensitive skin.

Such an honest review, thank you Angelie, I really appreciate that. I’ve used Infallible before and I really liked it, but I agree with you. It is difficult to blend

This foundation really didn’t work for me and looked/felt heavy on my skin which I was super gutted about !!

  9. July 14, 2017 / 11:36 am

I’ve never met a Loreal product I didn’t honestly really enjoy. It’s the only lip gloss I use, too 🙂

This is a very complete review! I have dry skin, so I stay at bay of products like this, I really prefer dewy finish foundations.

I don’t usually wear foundation unless it’s for photoshoots but this cream looks amazing!

Awesome! I’ve been on the look out for great products to use in the humid philippine weather.. I was wondering if this will cake up or get creasing after surviving a day’s worth of commute? say you’re using the MRT on a friday night? 😀 Also, have you tried the Fit Me by Maybelline? if yes, how does it compare? 😀

I’m all about minimizing product waste. My old BB cream would not squirt out and then all of a sudden a huge squirt would come out. And I’d waste so much.

This is a great review! It looks like a really good foundation, but I don’t think it would be for me as I have quite dry skin!

What a great review, girl! Based on the pros and cons, it doesn’t seem like a foundation that work well with my skin, unfortunately. Thanks for sharing and I hope you have a great weekend ahead, girl!

Though, I’m not really into make-up kind of girl, this product seems interesting. Your review has great insights. And I also love the packaging!

  20. October 3, 2017 / 9:12 pm

Well, this is an informative post for me. I haven’t been much knowledgeable about make-up and been avoiding L’oreal since that news/rumor that it’s not yet cruelty-free. But, I don’t think I’m going to use this for me. I dislike products that would become cakey.

Since I am engaging more into Korean products, I prefer to use cushion more than foundation. I really do not have any idea on what shade I fall on the Infallible or even the ones from other brands. I just feel that foundie is not for me. Still, I should give it a try in the future though. Who knows, i might find the one for me. (Naks! Haha)

  22. October 4, 2017 / 5:07 am

It looks nice, and I also love the package. You can really save some time before buying another one simply because of squeezing the product out of this kind of a package.
I mostly have oily skin, but some parts, like nose and around the mouth are dry, so I don’t know what to do. I think this foundation may help in some cases, where my skin is really oily… What do you think?

  23. October 4, 2017 / 5:04 pm

Buying a suitable foundation is sometimes a task.Sometimes I fail with selecting the most suitable colour for my skin. This seems like a really good product that works on any skin type.Good to know that this L’Oreal foundation lasts for all day without touch ups. That is a good idea for busy women throughout the day!

  24. October 4, 2017 / 6:48 pm

I’m using this foundation and I love it!! Sobrang matte niya na I used it in a wedding and kahit sobrang init di humulas. It lasts a long time the only downside nga is you really need to moisturizer after. My oily skin loves this product!

It’s great to hear that the foundation is good for women with oily skin. My skin does tend to get oily in summer, especially around the nose. It’s great to know also that the foundation lasts for the entire day as sometimes you don’t have time to reapply your make-up. Sounds like you found another great product from L’Oreal!

  26. October 4, 2017 / 11:47 pm

I don’t use foundation so I don’t really have an idea about this. The only time I use such one is when a makeup artist puts it on my face. But this is helpful as I get to learn. There is more to just using plain cc cream. By the way, if you’ve heard about Fenty beauty by Rihanna, hoping you can do a review of that.

  27. October 5, 2017 / 3:39 pm

I actually haven’t tried applying this kind of foundation…I tried once when I was wearing a costume for a cosplay but not on a daily or regular basis.
Loreal is already a trusted brand so I bet there is really no issue about the products quality
This is an interesting review though and I love how you comprehensively presented this item though your lovely photos

  28. October 29, 2017 / 9:26 pm

This is an awesome review. I once tried this foundation but it seems it did not fit properly to my skintype. Thank you for the great post, very informative and a fantastic review!

    Have a good remaining weekend!
